I went to Sarajevo mainly to discover its war history and there are plenty of opportunities for that. I visited the Tunnel of Hope and multiple museums. These museums in Sarajevo largely focus on the Bosnian War (1992–1995) and specifically on the Siege of Sarajevo, the longest city siege in modern history. Instead of merely focusing on military tactics and statistics, the museums primarily tell the story of the resilience, creativity, and raw survival of the civilian population. I can totally recommend this city and its Old Town.
