It isn't a real German plate but it is a real German trade plate. It's a temporary plate.

Actually, it's an export-plate (the date on the plate indicate the day the car has to leave Germany at last), which is still a real German plate. Also, the plate can still be used for another whole year abroad with (renewed) insurance.
